This country is a joke

No Comments

People often ask me why I want to get the hell out of this country. The problem is that this country is a bad joke. Here is one more episode of this Brazil’s history. What happens when a clown wants to be a Federal Legislator? Well, you tell me.

Despite being an analphabet, he was the candidate that got most votes in the past election. He got exactly 1.348.295 votes. Yes, 1.348.295 voted for a guy who doesn’t even know what a Federal Legislator does. The Brazilian legislation doesn’t allow analphabets to in politics, but he’s considered a “functional analphabet”, which is accepted by the law. Lula, the ex-president of Brazil was also a “functional analphabet”.

Functional analphabet is someone who has a notion of how to read and write, but she doesn’t do it very well. Say a functional analphabet reads the word “word”, she would understand “whole” or something like that. Seriously, I didn’t know what a functional analphabet was. The first time I’ve ever heard this term was when I was talking about politics.

Seriously, I do not take this country seriously, nor I consider it civilized. When I think it can’t get worse, it gets. And I really think those 1.348.295 idiots who voted for him deserve being tortured for the eternity.

One year to go

1 Comment

Today is January 29 2011. I must move away from this country in exactly one year, otherwise I will be forced to join military. As I said on the previous post, in Brazil, when you turn 18, you must join the military. My birthday is in March, however we must go to the army’s office to join it in January 30 of the year we turn 18.

In Brazil, laws aren’t respected unless you have good intentions(like kill a serial killer to defend yourself). The civil laws don’t apply to military. This mix makes it perfect for them! It means they may do whatever they want to you. Here are 2 things that happened a few years ago in the military police:

-New people who joined them were tortured;
-2 guys got arrested(and I believe they are still in jail) because they are gay;

There are many other bizarre stuff, but I really don’t wanna join the army. Too bad I was born in this piece of crap.

Looking for a job

I’m looking for a job in somewhere far from Brazil. I can do iOS, Mac and web development, but if I could pick I’d pick a Mac developer position. I sent my resume to a lot of companies around the world. I’m nervous. It’s always that same old question. Will I get hired? The problem is that the answer may be “No”, which is a very big problem to me. I really need a job and I’d do anything to get it. If any of my readers knows about someone who could hire me, please leave a comment or contact me. You can see my resume on the “Resume” page of this blog(what an obvious thing lol).

I still have more than a year to get a job outside Brazil, otherwise I will get my death sentence. OK, it’s not literally a death sentence, but I will be forced to join the army. Thanks to the crappy Brazilian law. No decent country has this kind of law. You don’t really want to know what happens in the Brazilian army. Ever since I was 13, I decided to get the hell out of this country, but as the time passes, my situation gets worse and worse. I hate this country, and now the president is a terrorist. How would you feel if Osama Bin Laden was the president of the country you live? Probably the same way I feel now.

Happy new year!

I’d like to wish everyone a happy new year. I hope 2011 will be a great year to me. I got many great projects which may finally come true. I’m really fighting to make they come true.

In the beginning of January, FireRocker for Mac will finally come out. It’s 90% done, but there’s still work and testing to do. Also, I will finish a couple more projects that are almost finished. If FireRocker for Mac gets successful, I will try to go to Canada or UK, as they allow self-employed people to immigrate. In case it fails, I will try to get a job.

In January, I will go to Campus Party. It may be a great place to make contacts and get a job. And guess who’s gonna be there? Steve Wozniak! Yeah, one of my idols. People say he’s very friendly, so I will finally get to know one of my idols. There will be a lot of foreigners and foreign companies. The first Brazilian female to work for NASA, got her job at a previous edition Campus Party. So I hope I will have the same luck :)

One thing I have to do before that is to practice English. I have no problems to write, but I don’t feel secure when speaking it. The last time I spoke it, everyone understood what I said. However, at the end of 2007, when I was still learning it, I tried to talk to a couple Americans, but I failed miserable. I think that’s why I don’t feel secure when speaking it. When I feel secure, even my accent gets better. I can speak many words just like Americans would speak. I must try to get comfortable with it, so I will not have any problem. I guess I will talk to a couple friends from the UK, Australia and the US a few hours each day, so I will get familiar with it.

Octopus and my fucking money

No Comments

Since Lula da Silva(AKA Octopus) has assumed the presidency of this fucking damn country called “Brazil”, it has became one of the biggest unfunny jokes EVER. I don’t even know where to start, maybe from his racist statements(I don’t have blue eyes, but as a white guy I’m still waiting for him to apologize) or the 45% of taxes(it’s the minimum you pay, sometimes it’s 800% depending on what you’re buying) or the corruption scandals. When he assumed the presidency, this country has became even worse than it was. Violence increased, corruption increased and your privacy too. It’s hard to believe the government gets data from credit card companies and banks to know how much you’re spending. If you spend money you don’t have or pays something to someone then she pays your credit card bill later, you will have to pay a bigger return tax for that.

There are also some weird cases of people who received small quantities of money from outside Brazil. Few time ago a guy told me one thing that happened to him. He has a company and it provided a service to a German company. It received €2.000,00 for the service. The government held the payment alleging “How can a company that has never made any money make 2k Euros?”. After a few years, he finally got that money. When that happened, the Euro exchange rate was down.

We both have something in common. My payment from Apple was supposed to be on my account by September 7, as they payed me on September 2. The payment was about R$1,200.00(approximately $700~800 US dollars). Guess what? The payment  was returned. I’m on a fucking list of people they want more information from. I emailed Apple and they told me that. And the worst part is that I have to consider myself lucky. Lucky because they didn’t steal my money. R$1,200.00, WTF!? It’s not a big quantity of money. It was the biggest payment I ever received from the, but it’s not too much. Is that all? No! The Dollar exchange rate is getting down.

I don’t know what is worse, the fact Dilma Rousseff(the candidate Lula is telling people to vote for), an ex-terrorist, having a *BIG* chance to be the next president of this fucking country, or those ignorant people who keep saying  “That’s right! He must steal our money. Everyone does it, so he has to do it too”. 99.8% of Brazilians are a bunch animals with a brain of a bacteria. Too bad I was born here. I really wish I was born in a decent country. :(

I will miss it :(

My favorite TV serial is Fresh Prince of Bell-Air. I just watched the last episode of it and I’m sad it was just 6 seasons. Well, the last episode makes you feel bad. I mean, I love that TV show and then I see everyone moving and the show ending. I really love it. Too bad it is over. :(

They really could record new seasons, now with them as adults and having responsibilities such as children and stuff like that. I really hope they will do it someday.
